Greed
Greed
I am the need for that extra large hotdog.
I am the chips you finish for your friend.
Always take seconds, never push away pudding.
Want another donut? Eat them all!
I am the emptiness you just cannot fill.
I shout out in class, pleased with my answers.
I'm on the lookout making sure their share
isn't bigger than mine.
When I swap football cards,
I lie to get the good ones.
I am that feeling that makes you want to gamble
all the money you've already won.
I am the voice in your head saying, "Me first!"
"Can you look at mine now! It's better than hers."
I am the queue jumper, the ball snatcher,
the freebie raider, the favourite-game hogger.
I will devour you.
