Billie
Billie
As soon as I go near her collar,
She is sitting by my side,
Staring at me innocently
With those deep hazel button eyes.
Like a bolt of lightning,
She is up at the collar,
Dragging it across the rug,
And lying down obediently.
I know this trick,
So slowly I creep forward,
Reach out, snatch it up,
And she looks somewhat
Disappointed that I have not fallen for her.
I tease her, holding it above her head,
And snatching it up when she tries to grab it,
In a flash I have it round her neck,
And am already walking out of the door before she knows
what is happening.
