Australian Poetry is the umbrella poetry organisation in Australia, with a charter to promote and support Australian poets and poetry locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Since launching in January 2011, AP has put poets on iPhones, in cafés, on planes and on television, and profiled their poetry on radio, on pillows in hotels, at festivals and in gift books.

The Community Fund is created by members of The Co-operative Group who elect to donate all or part of their twice-yearly dividend payments directly to the scheme. Funds are then shared with local community projects across the country and we welcome applications up to £2,000.

The estate of artist Rachel Reckitt (1908-1995) established The Golsoncott Foundation in July 1998. Its aim is “to promote, maintain, improve and advance the education of the public in the arts generally and in particular… the fine arts and music.”
It is funding the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival for the first time in 2011.

The Idlewild Trust was set up in 1974 and gives grants to charities which support “the encouragement of the performing and fine arts and crafts” and “the advancement of education within the arts”.
It has funded the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival on several previous occasions, but always with a 2-3 year gap between grants.

The Tolkien Trust was established in 1977 by the four children of the author, J R R Tolkien, to enable the Tolkien family to give regularly to its chosen charitable causes.The Trust is wholly discretionary, which means that the trustees largely decide whom to benefit on the basis of their own knowledge of charities operating in areas of interest to them.
