FRIDAY 3 NOVEMBER
MIKE BARLOW & JANE ROUTH –
DIVING IN AND OUT OF THE PICTURE
10.30am - 3.30pm • Peter Pears Gallery • PF1 • £35
Poets have always found paintings inspirational, a springboard from one mind to another. Go beyond description and explore the possibilities offered by narrative, reflection and allusion, starting with discussion of a range of images and poems.
NAOMI SHIHAB NYE – THE DEEP MOMENT
10.30am - 3.30pm • Cinema Gallery • PF2 • £35
Poetry can carry us deeply into a single finite moment or sequence of moments. An all-day opportunity to explore them – please bring 13 copies of a poem of your own and a poem by someone else, both of which feel ‘momentarily’ resonant to you.
VICKI FEAVER – RE-INVENTING MYTH
10.30am - 12.30pm • Aldeburgh Music Room • PF3 • £18
Myths, legends, fairytales and bible stories are a rich source of material for contemporary poets. Bring along your favourite and be inspired by the inventiveness of poets like Stevie Smith and Carol Ann Duffy in making old stories new.
