THE PHOTOGRAPH

This day matters, even
though I was not there.

It does not seem to matter
to my parents as much,
A couple of years
flew by..
I came along.

Now, I have the photograph
of their wedding

In a violet memory box

In the photograph, ivory
decorations marvelled at
the beauty

My mum doesn’t want her
dress now
I don’t know where she
keeps it.

The flowers started to fade
                         as the years crawled by.

You might be
wondering why my
parents don’t
seem to
care about this day.
They don’t care
about this day because
they are not
together any more but I
still get
To see them both.

I would rather have this photograph
than money and arguments.

I can see in the picture
that they are both hopeful..

Now I live with my mum and
my dad lives in Dubai
I still see
him about two
or three times
a year…

They hope that I
am enjoying my
life and that I
am happy..
I am a happy violet
most of the time.
